Be wary of Raila’s world of political sophistry
By MUNDIA MUNDIA JR
May be Raila Odinga’s brain size is above the average weight of 1380g in as far as political anatomical weight is concerned, but he has now put his perceptive political chemistry on the electoral score board to help us witness transient planets known only to the ones belonging to his school of thought. This has forced me to choose to be “Raila-like” and agitated to understand the psychic galaxies and milky-ways of Agwambo and company. Unfortunately, I missed all the fantasies that Tinga and William Ruto always experience for only “the Agwambos and Agwambees” know the rivers and dykes of the potent political world of diehard oppositionist. Is Ruto feeling the strength of the currents of the River Nile and will he contain them?
By the way, is it possible for an ordinary mwananchi to be like Raila and to imitate and exactly perceive and picture out what he politically wants and encounters without pretence?
I beg to differ for I cannot choose to pretend to understand what happens in Tinga’s world, Heaven or Mars alike, unless I’m a denizen of Agwambo land and maybe until when I experience intense injustices to taste the political salt of activism. At the same time did Kalembe feel annihilating pain while expressing political cries, screams, laughter and fidgeting and is this a qualification for “political impotence”?
If Agwambo does see this to be acceptable then I should believe that Raila’s political pain is not subject to Narc-Kenya’s perception and that we should not just determine Raila’s self aggressiveness and political mass severity and duration, whether phantom or real for Kenya.
Certainly neither Eastern nor Rift Valley politician can prove to be always “potent” except Agwambo for there is no measure for political normalcy in his political vocabulary. Moi got the bitter pill of Agwambo’s medicine. Thus a political genius as Moi is may still be “less normal or super-mad” with this political impotence or potency. What of Uhuru Kenyatta who claims to have experienced a Kibaki cum Moi type of miracle. He has since seen a KANU angel in Gatundu and its shadow in Bondo. Politically is Uhuru being resuscitated after being submerged by the waters of River Nile or is his lustre suffocating and ready to be resurrected only to return to ODM-Kenya?
Maybe all our leaders’ current political lives drive along periodic illusory paths and subjective perceptions that we call ‘mass reality’.
Unlike Agwambo, Uhuru is described “powerless and impotent” . If Musalia believes that a perfect life is found in Western political Heaven for his survival as the reward for being virtuous to ODM-Kenya, then his life would be greatly influenced by striving for that elusive goal, independent of whether that political fantasy exists or not Kombo should thus change his optical politics like how Kituyi did. I wonder who still is short sighted in western politics.
Our fault as Kenyans, ODM-Kenya is finding judgement by generalising about the “normalcy” of our Raila politics on the basis of our own tribal experiences that come from few “different” people in a new group and test-tube political experiences. ODM-Kenya has lost its consistency of identity by being obsessed with how other Kenyans (and not them) are politically regurgitating only to end up being victims of mob political mass justice.
Hon. Martha Karua on the other hand has since shown us how Narc-Kenya under the Government expresses manipulative fidgety and screams as a consequence of her potency and existence. We all hope that Wanjiku will this time round desist to define expressions of Anglo-Leasing grief with Orange happiness as was experienced during last year’s plesbicite that Agwambo’s team won.
Certainly there are politicians like Jirongo, Wakoli, Kajwang’ and Gor Sungu through societal backing who would shed political tears more often than those in the frying pan. Ask the likes of Mwai Kibaki, Daniel Moi and John Michuki who are politically attached to the hot throne.
When oppositionists as opposed to the incumbent leadership create identity measures, it is presumed to be “broad and complex” to define and fit than the same politicians would think. As a fact we as Kenyans err by constructing and developing psychic politicians like Raila by pulling strings while those close to government modify and complicate the stooge. Githongo has been chosen to be the “Tom and Jerry” of our politics in that his name would be shouted the most as we approach the electioneering period.
It should thus be understood that there are no absolute political mentalities like Raila except those that we non-satisfactorily help to create with consequences like mass powerlessness to counter.
Moreso, we are all politically fascinated, not frustrated, to watch and laugh at political humour by taking in what is inevitably not ours but Raila’s. It is time that we should take keen caution not to misuse the power of foreign political elusivity to pamper our foreign politics.
Raila’s confusion thus is seen when he continues to excuse society from accepting responsibility for his political deficiencies and worshipped lifestyle and behaviour. I wonder who is the author of his own life and not the infamous “An Enigma in Kenyan Politics”. His political life positions and campaigning scripts that society often and precociously chooses to define his potency are but selfish to the hoot.
Any political scientist who is congruent like Prof... Anyang’ Nyong’o, whether a counsellor or not, can offer Raila informed services without necessarily having that euphoria that is likely to sweep many including themselves to Egypt through River Nile. The main bone in this is giving direction to a liberal who always has all the answers to our leadership problems but misses the right avenue and approach for solutions due to self limitations or otherwise.
Yes! Wanjiku’s current consciousness represents what is being experienced and what is symbolised as part of that Agwambo’s self-concept and that no one has a right to determine our political stability for self gratification.
Such an experience between Raila’s and Wanjiku’s is the basic estrangement in Kenyan politics with our mean political behaviour directed by self-hatred, tribalism and electoral corruption.
The subjective nature of political reality does not imply all-accepting value of ODM-Kenya’s judgement. It is like applying animate analogues to help solve human problems. Raila has failed to logically deal with the “Kibaki mentality” rationally rather he gives in to an irrational political campaign as a demand for power and leadership by describing to Wanjiku fantasies of his perception and not that of Kenyans.
For the sake of maintaining positive regard of other politicians Raila should remain true to who he really is (not as a regional lord) by not perceiving political and leadership values only in terms of his and not all Kenyans.
Though this is not a conscious choice to lie to himself but rather a natural and tragic society’s developmental demand of politics and expectation right from the time activism started in Kenya.
Raila’s self-incongruent is threatening himself due to the fact that subseption defines the ability of one to discriminate an idea/feeling at a level below that which is perceived normal by others including Narc-Kenya and the government and Kenyans at large.
Political individuals unlike Raila know that they have a mass problem for election for they may deny themselves a state of political consciousness and end up with foreign headaches due to societal forces of leadership reformation. But should Uhuru et al interpret Raila’s “wellness” devoid of Gatundu stigma and national political absolutism?
Surprisingly, my society teaches me to compulsively and sourly fear the bitter Orange man from the lake like death and lightening combined.
Thus individual identity as portrayed by Agwambo should be based on the uniquely Kenyan awareness for being soberly political no matter the subjective perception for we have separate and distinct awareness and outlook to politics from others. None is superior but only different with strategies of survival and manipulations for power.
Or is Raila’s existence best understood as being-for-the-United States and the world or is it Kenya and Luoland and not Obama’s land of honey because political diversity and uncertainty are not simplistic, exhausted and limited in Kenya.
How I define Raila’s political impotence is relative to my political personality and not Kibaki’s or any other Kenyan.
